Bookworm Gardens describes itself as a vibrant, playful children's reading garden with the goal of enhancing children's literature, the natural world, and the imagination by offering the young and young at heart a free, beautiful, and secure environment for unstructured play and exploration of nature. This 2-acre campus and its many elements were designed based on celebrated children's books, including the Hansel & Gretel administration building, Flags teahouse, Magic Tree House tree house, Charlotte's Web barn, The Tale of Peter Rabbit shed, McElligot's Pool pier, Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge memorial library, and numerous other site features.
