Albert & Mary Shekey House
| Location | Town of Koshkonong, Jefferson County, Wisconsin |
| Project Type | National Register Nomination |
| Year | 2014 |
The Shekey House was constructed in 1885 for Mary B. Swart and Albert H. Shekey, the daughter and son-in-law of early Town of Koshkonong settlers, Martin J. & Amanda Swart, on the southern half of the family's 1844 farmstead on the shores of Lake Koshkonong just outside of Fort Atkinson. It is a locally significant example of Queen Anne architecture exhibiting the style's asymmetrical massing, steeply pitched gable roofs with unique mansard roofs and jerkinhead details, projecting window bays, open porches with delicate turned wooden posts, lavish combinations of several exterior wood siding materials, and decorative ornamentation characteristic of the style.
